TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR HIRING A WAREHOUSE MANAGER
INTRODUCTION
Austral Cimentos Sofala, SA, is a cement factory located in Dondo, Sofala province , in Mozambique. The aim of which is to contribute with its products to the growth and development of the Mozambican economy and national infrastructures.
This Terms of Reference is relevant for analyzing the feasibility of hiring, as well as developing the respective strategy for hiring a Warehouse Manager, with a view to managing warehouse activities.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- The warehouse manager reports to the Production Director, and has the following responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the operations and budget of warehouse facilities;
- Develop warehouse operations policies and procedures and communicate this information to staff;
- Liaise with the technical department to ensure that spare/stock items are available in warehouse for equipment in the factory;
- Develop and implement profit improvement plans and change management plans;
- Direct and control corporate management and regulatory compliance procedures within the Production department,
- Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of warehouse operations and use company KPIs ;
- Stay up to date with the latest warehouse operations technology systems and procedures;
- Plan to organize and direct administrative services related to the warehouse such as signage, cleaning, installations , maintenance, repairs, safety inspections, parking;
- Plan, organize, direct, manage and evaluate construction projects to modify storage facilities;
- Perform day-to-day tasks such as maintaining files and processing paperwork;
- Prepare correspondence, reactors , statistics related to the warehouse, area of operations responsibility and operation, maintenance and safety manuals;
- Interview, select, train, manage and evaluate the performance of warehouse personnel;
- Solve problems, negotiate and face team challenges;
- Coordinate with factory department supervisors to coordinate warehouse activities such as production, sales, record control and purchasing;
- Review contracts, invoices, work orders, consumption reports, and demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and issue work assignments;
- Ensure proactivity and application of the factory's rules of conduct and health and safety protocols during production procedures to minimize injuries and lost-time incidents;
- Attend weekly safety meetings and provide feedback on unsafe working conditions or signs of equipment breakdown;
- Perform any other related tasks and duties as may be assigned by the Plant Manager.

MANAGER PROFILE OR QUALIFICATIONS
- Higher level in mechanics, or course related to operation and maintenance of facilities;
- Work experience (6 months);
- Oriented to objectives and results with the ability to lead initiatives;
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written );
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
- Basic knowledge of the English language ( an advantage)
